Mitchell Dress Sgian Dubh Set               

Mitchell Sgian Dubh Set @2008 Michael H. Mara

These Dress Sgian Dubhs feature 3 1/2" blades of 128 layer 15N20 and 1095 Damascus, in a random/birdseye pattern. The blades are flat ground dagger point, with tapered fullers and traditional spine grooves, hardened to HRC 60. The Mitchell Sgian Dubhs are 8” overall, and have the recipients' names engraved into the ferrules. The handles are Scottish Bog Oak with Malachite and Lapis Lazuli inlay, along with vulcanized spacer, to match the Mitchell tartan, with all Sterling silver fittings. The pommels have Malachite and Mammoth Ivory set as pommel stones. Includes custom handmade sheaths. A private commission of two Dress Sgian Dubhs, for two young men, brothers, for wearing while piping and for other special occasions. $1674/set. SOLD
