Conestoga Bowie Knife @2012 Michael H Mara This very unique Bowie knife is so named because all of the component materials came from covered (or buckboard) wagon parts. The Bowie features an 8” flat ground, clip point, hand forged blade of wagon axle steel with 2 1/2” false top edge and curved choil at the ricasso. The blade is hardened to HRC 58. The knife is 12 ½” overall. This Bowie features a handle of wagon wheel spoke Oak with contoured finger grooves, with a wrap around guard and pommel nut of wagon wheel rim wrought iron.
